Father’s Day in Central FloridaFriday, June 1st, 2012
For me, it’s always the Dad life. June marks Father’s Day and the first full month of summer. It’s time to spend your time the way you want to, whether it’s with your kids, with your significant other or simply by yourself. The following events and activities are some of my favorites happening this month in Central Florida:
Orlando Food Trucks Bacon-Off
On June 17 from 12pm-4pm, two of Orlando’s best food trucks will compete for titles in various best bacon meal categories. Conceptualized from a playful Twitter war, the event was created to discover who really makes the best bacon. Cost is $30 and includes a bacon sampler plate from each truck, access to a bacon-filled buffet and a free beverage. The Bacon-Off will take place in the new East End Market in Aubudon Park. For tickets and more information visit www.baconofforlando.com.
Tampa Bay Rays vs. Miami Marlins
Is there a better way to celebrate Father’s Day in Florida than enjoying America’s pastime with the kids? On June 17 at the Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, watch the Tampa Bay Rays play the Miami Marlins at 1:40pm.
