Teacher Appreciation DaysWednesday, June 1st, 2011
First off, I’d like to apologize for neglecting to mention last month that May was Teacher Appreciation Month. Secondly, I’d like to say thank you to all the teachers who wrote in to remind me that I’d forgotten about it. Fortunately, they didn’t make me stay after school for detention. All kidding aside, when you think about it, teachers are some of the most important people we’ll ever have in our lives. Who can’t look back to some point in their school years and recall something a teacher said or did and how it made a huge impact on you. What I really find amazing is that some form of Teacher’s Appreciation Day is celebrated in almost every country around the world. In most cases, different countries celebrate a local educator or important educational milestone and that’s why the celebrations are held on different days throughout the year. But the fact that teachers are celebrated on such a grand scale just goes to show how much they mean to us all. Be sure to tell a teacher you know thank you, and let them know just how important they are in our lives and community.
